Engravings and Collages

This series of engravings and collages is composed of graphics from a car repair shop handbook and influenced by a field trip to Madrid. The subject matter is strongly accentuated, analogous to the classical religious paintings. Here the subject 'technology' is revalued by using it as ornament. In this new form the mechanical drawings lose their official meaning, their shape is accentuated. The engravings and collages can be seen as icons of technology. Some of the engravings were printed on cloth and used for wiping off dirt while building the Thrwing machines.
