Thrwing

Is a 2002 installation, constructed from mechanical contraptions built in the same year. The devices are composed of old bicycle parts, an old sink and scrap metal. Old vacuum-cleaner- and fan-motors are used as engines. A cubic room with an edge length of 4 meters is laced with white paper. Reservoirs of old motor-oil drip their contents onto the moving parts of the machinery. The oil is catapulted forth, creating a registration of the machine's movement on the paper. The mechanical aspect is amplified by the smell and the residue of old motor-oil. The installation was active for half a day, motion-activated by sensors installed in the adjoining hallway.
